Lord Tarkaans of Calormen: Because there has recently been confusion over the limits and jurisdictions of the Tisroc's Lord Tarkaans, I write you this advisory letter to remind you of the context of your position. Lord Tarkaans and their families serve at the pleasure of the Tisroc. As the Tisroc's empire is too vast and glorious for him to manage without help, Tarkaans rule in every major city, enforcing the Tisroc's law and disseminating his proclamations. The Tisroc may over-rule a Lord Tarkaan's decisions, but within the letter of the law, a Lord Tarkaan essentially rules the city given him. Yet the Lord Tarkaan himself must abide by some RP rules: *The Lord Tarkaan has no powers of enforcement outside his jurisdiction.* If you are Lord Tarkaan of Azim Balda and hear of a peasant leading a slave-liberation ring in Tehishbaan, you do not have the legal or moral right to contact the peasant and threaten to punish her. Her future lies in the hands of the Lord Tarkaan of Tehishbaan. If you are concerned with the situation, contact the Lord Tarkaan, not the peasant. Likewise, when visiting a neighboring city (something you should do but rarely, as you have business of your own to attend to at home), please do not harm the citizens of that city. The guards, Tarkaans, and Lord Tarkaans of a city are responsible for your safety and well-being, and will do everything to bring a miscreant to justice. But except in pre-approved TinyPlot instances, for the purpose of RPing you may not threaten or harm a citizen of another city. *The Lord Tarkaan MUST answer to the Tisroc.* The Tisroc is Calormen's absolute authority. Every Lord Tarkaan serves at his pleasure. If you take actions that offend the Tisroc, you must be prepared to suffer the consequences. The Tisroc has the authority to fine his Lord Tarkaans, to diminish their authority, to imprison them, and to execute them. That's the way it works, folks. Always, whether in RL or VR, be prepared to pay the consequences. *A Lord Tarkaan's chances of take-over are slim to zilch.* It is unlikely that your TinyPlot administrators will approve any TPs involving the assassination of other Lord Tarkaans and the subsequent take-over of their lands. The Tisroc is unlikely to look kindly upon such actions, and has the authority to punish any Lord Tarkaans who think to try it. You are warned. *A neighboring Lord Tarkaan is not automatically your enemy.* Lord Tarkaans are equals, not necessarily rivals. As Calormen is still developing, the administrators of NarniaMUSH would like in these early stages to see Lord Tarkaans cooperating together to develop TinyPlots and Calormene features that would attract more characters to the southern lands. Excessive in-fighting and contentiousness between Lord Tarkaans can make Calormen an unpleasant place to play. Azaroth/TP Administrator/The Twice-Sexed One.
